I'm not a leader; I'm a follower...

“The deep end is where the grownups play. It's where the monsters hang out, and the treasure too. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference, but you need to go there and see for yourself. Even if you don't swim, or you fear water, or you love terra firma beneath your feet. Sooner or later, you'll have to dive straight into the middle of the deep. Remember, Venus was born from the sea, not the shallow end of the pool.”

"And I think you need to stop following misery's lead
Shine away, shine away, shine away
Isn't it time you got over how fragile you are?
We're all wait, waiting
On your supernova.
Cause that's who you are
And you've only begun to shine."

What happens in A-vegas Stays in A-vegas

I spent this past weekend in Asheville, NC with my brother (Brandon) and his family. I sort of invited myself to their house for a three-day weekend, and they love me enough to pretend not to be annoyed that I just show up. After all, spending time with me is a total treat. Here is how our weekend went:

We drank. A lot. This is me on Friday night (Saturday morning?) about ten minutes before I passed out cold in the den. I don't remember photographs being taken, but I do remember the midori sours. Yum.

On Saturday morning, my mom drove up and we all got ready for a Halloween party at Joe's house. Joe dressed up as Vegan Man.

My brother and Carmon were zombies.

Mom was Raggedy Ann.

Kylie was a devil, and I was (of course) an angel. (No, the irony is not lost on me, either.)

After the Halloween party, we went out to eat at a most excellent restaurant called Nine Mile. Food in Asheville rocks, and this place had plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Tofu has never tasted better.

It was so nice to get away for the weekend. And honestly, the Addams family has nothing on us.

Okay this is really lame but it's the first thing that popped into my head. Your picutres make me think of a joke that would start "The devil, a zombie, and raggedy ann walk into a bar..."

I know. Lame
